This week so far has been super busy. I gave my first research speech of my ISM II journey last friday and I was happy with the way I described my research thus far. One of the things I had to make note of was removing the word “assessment” from my speech vocabulary and powerpoint, since my research speech is supposed to show the research I culminated out of interest rather than an assignment. Moreover, I ended up speaking over my time which was expected, so I have to be sure to adjust my time more accordingly to make sure my speech is within the recommended time range. This week, I also started a subset painting for my Original Work over the weekend. I started with the underpainting and I made a few marks with water resistant color sticks, soft charcoal, hard charcoal, pencil, and a light layer of acrylic paint. This painting is more of a practice for my big piece, and I have to be sure to start logging hours for my original work. Moreover, I have to start creating my google form as I start my two abstract pieces. With my mentor visit approaching this Friday, my goal is to finish the underpaintings and start to draft my google form.
