This week, I finished my double assessment that will aid in my original work study. I analyzed a case study that deepened my understanding about the way people view art. Moreover from my analysis, I gained critical insight on psychological and art models that will help me develop my research thesis and original work case study. In regards to the direction of my original work and mentor visits, I recently had a mentor visit with Mrs. Pedrero during the weekend. During this time, I showed her my progress on my first nine pieces. As we talked about each piece, Mrs. Pedrero taught me about the Golden Rule and we also discussed certain “trends” and “patterns” in my art thus far. Although I have to repeat this assignment several times before I truly find my unique style, being able to do this assignment was very telling. I have my second mentor visit with her planned tomorrow, where I will be going to her studio and working on my art with her for the very first time. Overall, I am very excited to visit her space and see some of her recent developments. For the week to come, one of my main goals is to log more original work hours and start my pieces. Moreover, I will also start to draft my case study and wrap up my research.
